Wireless Business Solutions (WBS), provider of wireless broadband solution iBurst, has announced i-Go, a new service which makes connecting to the Internet more affordable for many South Africans at R299 per month.
The i-Go offering provides up to 1 Mbps (megabits per second) - which is the speed of data transfer - of data connectivity with a 500MB limit which can be topped up for R139 for a further 500MB or 1GB for R229.
"Consumers can now purchase iBurst on a monthly contract and should they not exceed the 500MB limit, enjoy the use of high speed access for email and web browsing without the hassles of dialing-up each time," says Antony Mckechnie, Head of Sales from WBS.
i-Go is attractive to low bandwidth hungry individuals who require a permanent connection to the Internet at home, their office, or from wherever they are.
"Traditional dial-up or 'wired' connections can be costly and has hindered those with limited budgets of taking part in the 'always on' or broadband revolution," says Mckechnie.
Now both the user who has a desktop computer or a laptop can have a wireless connection at a very affordable monthly fee. All that is required to get going is a wireless modem or laptop card which can be purchased from Netposition, on 011 791 6970, and a once-off activation fee of R114.00.
Besides the cost benefits of this package, the advantages of going wireless for the average consumer or small business user are numerous: from being more accessible, efficient, productive and more competitive to being always ready to do business.
"Internet access in South Africa is one of the most expensive in the world and it is our ultimate goal to support bringing high speed Internet access to all citizens," concludes Jacki Mpondo-Hendricks, Head of Marketing at WBS.
